The initiative arrives at a critical juncture. While the MENA region faces undeniable challenges, reducing it to a monolith ignores the rich tapestry of experiences, histories, and perspectives that define it. MENA Panorama aims to provide a space for artists from across the region, and its diaspora, to represent themselves on their own terms—a vital act of agency in a world often defined by external portrayals.
The call is open to artists aged 18 and above, encompassing a wide range of genres: fashion, documentary, portraiture, fine Art, and experimental practices are all welcome. But it's not simply about aesthetics; PhotoVogue is seeking work that offers a clear point of view—whether woven through personal narratives, reflections on identity and belonging, or innovative explorations of visual language. As Myriam Boulos, PhotoVogue’s team, succinctly puts it, “Images do not simply reflect reality; they shape how we see the world and one another.”
Grants, exposure, and a global stage
But this isn't just about visibility; it’s about tangible support. Three artists will be awarded a total of $8,000 in grants, with $4,500 designated for an “Outstanding Vision Grant” recognizing artists pushing creative boundaries. A $2,000 “Vision Grant” will support artists with a distinctive perspective, while a $1,500 “Rising Voice Grant” will champion emerging talent. Beyond the financial awards, selected artists will gain exposure at the 2027 PhotoVogue Festival and potential publication across Condé Nast titles, including Vogue, GQ, and Architectural Digest. The opportunity to participate in PhotoVogue’s Virtual Portfolio Reviews adds another layer of professional development.
The submission window is open from May 21st, 2026, to September 24th, 2026 (11:59 PM CET) via Picter, and artists are invited to submit a series of up to 15 images or a combination of images and video, including a 60-second video trailer. The international jury, details of which will be announced shortly, promises a rigorous evaluation process.
