The pairing was confirmed yesterday by Lorraine Kelly reporter, Ross King, who revealed the duo’s appearance on the show. King described the news as ‘thrilling,’ noting their previous victory with Karen Carney. ‘They’re going to be on Gogglebox on Friday, together as a little couple, and weirdly enough, they absolutely love watching TV together,’ he exclaimed.
Amy dowden: beyond the dance floor

Diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2019, she’s become a powerful advocate for the condition, raising awareness and funds through her work with Crohn’s & Colitis UK, even receiving an MBE for her efforts. Dowden initially discovered a lump in 2023, leading to a diagnosis of stage three breast cancer in May of that year. She underwent a full mastectomy and eight rounds of chemotherapy, achieving a significant milestone with the news of ‘no evidence of disease’ in February 2024. Following a preventative second mastectomy in November, she reassured fans that this was a proactive measure, not a sign of recurrence.

Beyond their professional achievements, Dowden and Gu share a passion for television. According to King, they’re known for their brutally honest commentary and, occasionally, for bringing snacks – though not always the most sophisticated fare. The pair are married, having celebrated their nuptials in July 2022 after a pandemic-related delay, cementing their bond both on and off the dance floor. Dowden, born August 10, 1990, is a Leo and currently resides in Caerphilly, Wales – the first professional dancer from Wales to grace the Strictly stage.
